The Bible says about itself that it is living and active, but how might that work for you personally?
How might you welcome the scriptures to be alive and at work in you?
From award winning author and seasoned spiritual director Alan Fadling
Hi. My name is Alan Fadling and I am the award-winning author of An Unhurried Life and of the forthcoming sequel An Unhurried Leader. I spend a lot of time training people how to walk and work more deeply with God. And that is what I want to do for you.
I’ve served thousands leaders over the decades, some responsible for large organizations, others who are honored with opportunities for influence in their own families, neighborhoods, churches and workplaces.
The practice of guided prayer in scripture has been critical in my own spiritual journey. It is also a practice I draw on continually in my training of leaders. This course provides a number of guided prayers in the psalms that I’ve often used in these trainings.
I’d love to have a chance to share this practice with you. I hope you’ll take advantage of the practical wisdom I’ve learned and share here.
How can you use this guided prayer in your everyday life?
Start your day with God with it. This prayer can help you welcome God’s gift of quiet and peace before engaging in whatever Bible reading, prayer or other spiritual practices help you at the beginning of a day.
End your day with God by engaging it. Enjoy a restful moment in God’s presence as you prepare to retire for the day.
Use it as a break in the midst of your day—sitting in your car, taking a walk, taking five in your office, wherever.
Use it at the beginning of a small group meeting, a group retreat, a planning meeting or any other gathering.
Here's how this guided prayer can help...
It can give you space for reflection and for noticing God’s presence.
It can provide a way to let something from the psalm soak in a bit deeper.
It can help you offer God the simple gift of your attention.
It can train you to listen first instead of speaking first in prayer.
It can help you in a moment of anxiety, stress or distraction to welcome God’s gift of peace, well-being and focus.
It can help train you in the art of waiting patiently in the presence of God. It’s a good and fruitful invitation from God to you.
Praying scripture is a way of encountering God. It is an activity of heart and soul alongside the activity of mind that reading and study can be. Such meditation is a way of loving God through the means of the scriptures.
The full version of this course includes:
Ten beautifully designed audio and visual guided prayers from the Psalms.
An introduction on many ways to use these guided prayers.
Access to a prayerful community through the comments feature.

It gave me some good tools to spend some unhurried time with God in the midst of a very busy schedule with study, family and ministry. I really enjoyed the great insights from Alan too!
